Did you know these leaves are edible?



It appears to have become some what of a "norm" to throw away leaves from celery, broccoli, cauliflower plus others.

Why have we become so accustomed to throwing this part of the vegetable away? They are edible and full of goodness!

According to Nutrition Data, raw broccoli leaves are a

“good source of Protein, Thiamin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Iron and Selenium, and a very good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Manganese.“

Here is a recipe for delicious Roasted Cauliflower & Broccoli Leaves

Ingredients:

Use any leaves: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Kale or any green:

Soy Sauce to drizzle over the leaves. (Its best to use organic Tamari, wheat free sauce low sodium instead of Soy Sauce)

Scallions

Four cloves of garlic.

Any herbs or spices you like

Sesame Oil or Olive Oil (Mei Lei uses both.) Delicious with only Sesame Oil OR coconut oil

Salt and Pepper to taste (I use Himalayan salt as its FULL of trace minerals).

What To Do:

Pre-heat the oven at 200 °C/400°F .

Wash the cauliflower and leaves and cut into bite-size pieces, and then discarding the toughest outer layer of leaves. (Preferably into the composter!)

Smash a few cloves of garlic and chop them coarsely. Chop some scallions as well. The whole scallion, not just the white part. (I cheat and use already cut up garlic which is 2 cloves per teaspoon.) Note, you can omit the scallions if you don’t want them or don’t have them. This dish tasted the same to me with or without them.

Toss the garlic, onions, and cauliflower with a generous splash of soy sauce and oil in a roasting pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper- or absolutely anything you want fennel seeds, tumeric, cayenne pepper, herbs spices

Place the uncovered roasting pan in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until the green leaves are crisp and both the florets and the thicker stalks are tender and can be pierced easily with a fork. Don’t worry if you overcook the leaves. I love them crispy. It is so simply and so quick.

The Most Contaminated Fruits & Vegetables


FRUITS:

Apples and Pears:

The FDA states that more pesticides are found on apples than are found on any other fruit or vegetable. There is 36 pesticides on the apples. These pesticides are linked to damages to the human reproductive system, damages to the brain and nervous system, including decreased intelligence and increased attention problems in children, and damages to the immune system.

*Scrubbing and peeling a fruit doesn't eliminate chemical residue completely so it's best to buy organic when it comes to apples.

Blueberries

52 pesticides and are now considered one of the dirtiest berries on the market.

Grapes

Vineyards can be sprayed with 35 different pesticides during different growth periods during the season and no amount of washing or peeling will eliminate contamination because of the grape's permeable thin skin.

Peaches & Nectarines:

45 different pesticides are regularly applied to these delicately skinned fruits in conventional orchards.

Strawberries & Cherries

Strawberry plantations average a dose of up to 500 pounds of pesticides per acre.

VEGETABLES

Celery

Celery has no protective skin, which makes it almost impossible to wash off the 29 different chemicals that are used on conventional crops.

Lettuces

Leafy greens are frequently contaminated with the most potent pesticides used on food.

Green Beans

There are over 60 pesticides that are registered for use on green beans in the U.S.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers were ranked the 12th most contaminated food and the second in cancer risk due to their pesticide content.

Winter Squash

Winter squash is often contaminated by Dieldrin, a very toxic and carcinogenic insecticide. It still gets absorbed through its roots even though this toxin was banned in 1974.

Potatoes

Root vegetables, such as potatoes, rank highest for pesticide residue. They absorb herbicides, pesticides and fungicides in the soil. Potatoes, for example, are treated with fungicides during the growing season, then sprayed with herbicides to kill off the fibrous vines before harvesting. After they're dug up, the potatoes are treated yet again to prevent them from sprouting.

Capsicums

They have thin skins that don't offer much of a barrier to pesticides.

They are one of the most heavily sprayed vegetables out there and may be coated with nearly 40 commonly used pesticides meant to keep them insect-free.

Tomatoes

Their easily punctured skins are no match for chemicals that will eventually permeate the whole tomato.

Also avoid CANNED tomatoes. The resin linings of tin cans contain bisphenol-A (BPA) - a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to a variety of health problems, including reproductive problems, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. The primary characteristic of tomatoes are their acidity which draws BPA out of the lining and allows it to leach into the tomatoes.

The method Do not swallow the oil, spit it out.
In the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach you take one tablespoon in the mouth but do not swallow it. Move Oil Slowly in the mouth as rinsing or swishing and Dr Karach puts it as ‘ sip, suck and pull through the teeth’ for fifteen to twenty minutes. This process makes oil thoroughly mixed with saliva. Swishing activates the enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood. The oil must not be swallowed, for it has become toxic. As the process continues, the oil gets thinner and white. If the oil is still yellow, it has not been pulled long enough.It is then spit from the mouth , the oral cavity must be thoroughly rinsed and mouth must be washed thoroughly. Just use normal tap water and good old fingers to clean.


Clean the sink properly, you can use some antibacterial soap to clean the sink. Because the spittle contains harmful bacteria and toxic bodily waste. If one were to see one drop of this liquid magnified 600 times under a microscope, one would see microbes in their first stage of development.
It is important to understand that during the oil-pulling/swishing process one’s metabolism is intensified. This leads to improved health. One of the most striking results of this process is the fastening of loose teeth, the elimination of bleeding gums and the visible whitening of the teeth.
The oil pulling /swishing is done best before breakfast. To accelerate the healing process, it can be repeated three times a day, but always before meals on an empty stomach.

Precautions
(a) Do not swallow. The oil should be spat out. But inadvertently if you swallow there is nothing to worry. It will go out through faeces. Nothing is to be done.
(b) If you are allergic to a particular brand of oil, change the brand of oil or oil itself to different oil.
(c) Sunflower and Sesame oil have been found to be equally effective in curing diseases. Other oils were not found to be as good. Do not blame oil pulling by practicing with other oils. refined oils are OK

Results of Oil Pulling
The result of this healing research has attracted amazement and resulted in further research. Hello All,

Apologies it’s been quiet sometime since I wrote my last article. I have been living a crazy hectic life & going through many transitions.

I truly miss writing, informing, inspiring & educating so I will continue to endeavour to write articles that a simple, straight to the point & motivating.

This year seems to be FLYING by (I am sure nearly 99.9% of you can agree its incredible how fast we got to the end of year!)… frightening?!

We are in a time that we need we reassess our directions, our paths, the people around us & where our priorities lie. Why is Non-Stick Cookware so Bad For Your Health?

Non-stick cookware has become enormously popular because of its convenience factor; foods don’t stick to the surface.

pH pH pH pH it may sound scientifically technical but its really quiet simply.

It is the CURE FOR ALL ILLNESS AND DIS-EASE.

What is pH?

Human blood is made up of a acid/alkaline balance which usually stays in a very narrow pH range right around 7.3. Below or above this range means symptoms and disease.

When pH goes off (becomes to acidic), the mircrobes in the blood can change shape, mutate, mirror pathogenicity, and grow.

When pH goes off, ENZYMES that are constructive can become destructive.

Roasted pumpkin, Quinoa salad




For those of you who have not yet discovered the amazing QUINOA grain, its about time!

Its so good i dont know where to start..

2.In a bowl i put finely cut cucumber, red onion, fresh corn, Himalayan salt, chia seeds, udo's oil (amazing for omega 3 & 6) and olive oil

3. In a saucepan i lightly cooked broccoli, carmelized onion, green beans, & scrambled organic free range eggs :)

4. I also roasted butternut pumpkin in the oven. I put all my delicious colourful ingredients together and made the most wholesome dinner which my organs, brain, hair, skin, nails and heart is thanking me for! yew

$183 000 Fine for Selling Raw Milk


The Suveran is a cafe/organic food store in Bondi Junction Sydney.

Its a meeting place for like-minded people where people learn and discover what real food is, free from all the nastys found in most cafes.

Unfortunately the owner and operator Pete Melov has just been fined $180 000 for selling RAW MILK. I have always been aware that diary is not the most beneficial thing for the human body but have been informed by raw food chefs that raw milk has many benefits. Being fined $180 000 is a huge sum so it led me to investigate raw milk more. This is what i have discovered:

Milk History Summarised


A couple of hundred or more years ago, society was more agrarian. All the milk was as-is. Without processing and from open pasture grass fed cows. All dairy products were made from raw milk. It wasn't a problem for consumers. People were healthy.

Then as populations became less agrarian, small dairy farms were contained in crowded towns. Unhealthy and unsanitary crowded conditions with grain feeding, not your basic bovine food, were instituted. Those conditions attracted pathogens, and from that contaminated milk diseases began to emerge.

The real reasons for milk contamination were ignored. Unhealthy conditions in small urban dairy farms were not improved, and along came Pasteur whose germ theory became the foundation for killing those germs by killing the milk with heat!

The medical profession decided it's more profitable to treat diseases than improve the conditions that cause and sustain illness.

The milk in your fridge


Pasteurization of milk allows dairy farmers to create unhealthy muddy feces filled environments for their cows, forcing them into crowded feed conditions with grains, which are not basic bovine foods, and injecting the cows with hormones and antibiotics while not allowing them to graze in open pastures.

Those conditions produce more cheap milk and higher profits for dairy factory farms. With only the bottom line in mind, it makes sense to produce bad milk and then kill the germs by killing the milk with nutrient destroying heat. In addition to lacking nutrients, pasteurized milk causes health problems.


What is Pasteurization?


The milk from the cow is heated to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. That is VERY HOT MILK. The enzyme that is critical to the absorption of calcium (and other minerals in milk) is destroyed. Its a massive misconception milk is good for calcium!


The heat also destroys digestive enzymes, inhibiting proper digestion of milk fats and creating mucous and phlegm in the body to attract disease. The probiotic digestive bacteria, or friendly flora, are also destroyed. The GI tract is well over half of the immune system. Live intestinal flora is needed to bolster that important section of the immune system.

Meanwhile, not quite dead pathogens could remain in the milk.

Basically, the milk you buy from the supermarket is devoid of any minerals or nutrients but instead harbors disease and illness! scary..

Dont blame the farmers either, as its 100% mandatory to pasteurized milk, or end up with a $180 000 fine from the Australian Government!

RAW MILK the FACTS

Although i choose organic rice milk and on the rare occasion soy milk (Although soy should be avoided on a regular basis due to the very high estrogen levels) the benefits of raw milk can NOT go unnoticed :) Lets have a look.

Raw milk from clean, healthy cows bears no comparison – in taste or nutrition – to pasteurized milk.

* Raw cow's milk has all 20 of the standard amino acids.

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.

2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."

4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."

7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

I was out at dinner the other night with some friends, the topic of conversation moved towards our galaxy and the universe as a whole.

I have always found these topics of conversations incredibly exciting but I have come to realise it scares a lot of people.

Its is incredible just how little we know about this magnificent, weird, beautiful, bizarre universe we all live in.

We tend to focus on our daily happenings of our lifes and forgot that when we walk, talk, sleep or eat we are on a planet-in a galaxy that is flying through space.
